BMW Group India achieved its highest-ever Q1 car sales, demonstrating sustained double-digit growth in an otherwise moderate segment. The company sold 4,567 vehicles in the first quarter of 2026, reflecting a robust 17% year-on-year (YoY) increase. The year began on a highly positive note, with each month setting new sales records.

Electric Vehicles (EV)
BMW Group India is leading the charge to make electric vehicles mainstream in the luxury segment, establishing itself as the most preferred luxury EV brand. In Q1, the company continued its electric leadership by selling 1,185 BMW and MINI EVs, reflecting an impressive year-on-year growth of 83%. Currently, every fourth car sold by BMW Group India is an electric vehicle. The company holds the largest market share in the luxury electric segment in India, exceeding 70%. Additionally, EVs accounted for 26% of total sales in Q1, highlighting the growing adoption of electric vehicles in the luxury market.

BMW Long Wheelbase models set new standards in comfort, luxury, and performance, while still embodying the core BMW DNA of Sheer Driving Pleasure. In the first quarter, these models represented over 50% of total sales, reflecting a year-over-year growth of 23%, with a total of 2,256 units sold.
Sports Activity Vehicles (SAV)
BMW Group India's SAV sales continued to grow rapidly, increasing by 38% year-over-year to reach 2,966 units. Highly popular among luxury SAV enthusiasts, these vehicles now account for 65% of the company's total sales.
MINI
MINI made a remarkable leap in the first quarter, delivering 213 units and achieving an impressive growth of +42%. With an expanded range and broader appeal, customers showed strong enthusiasm for the Hatch, Convertible, and Countryman models. To further strengthen its portfolio, MINI introduced exciting new launches in recent months, including the MINI Convertible, MINI Countryman JCW ALL4, and MINI Countryman SE ALL4, attracting even more fans to the brand’s iconic charm and spirited performance.
BMW Motorrad
BMW Motorrad delivered a total of 1,216 motorcycles in the first quarter of 2026. The demand was primarily driven by popular models such as the BMW G 310 RR, BMW S 1000 RR, BMW 900 GS / GSA, and BMW 1300 GS / GSA.
Power Packed Year
In 2026, BMW Group India plans to launch 27 new products, including all-new generation models, major facelifts, and limited-edition special variants across BMW, MINI, and BMW Motorrad. The first quarter will feature four exciting launches: the all-new BMW M2 CS, BMW X3 30, BMW M 1000 R, and MINI Cooper S Victory Edition. In the second quarter, eight additional products and editions will be introduced to the market.
