Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray has strongly condemned the recent violence at Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) and compared it to the 26/11 Mumbai terror attacks. Thackeray, who heads the Shiv Sena party, expressed his concern over the safety of students in the country and vowed that such incidents would not be allowed to happen in Maharashtra.

C.M. Thackeray urged authorities to prioritize bringing the perpetrators of the violence to justice and called for politics to take a backseat in this matter. Thackeray's comments come amidst protests by students at the Gateway of India against the JNU violence. The Left-controlled JNUSU and the RSS-backed Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) have both accused each other of being responsible for the incident.
